Elgin Energy

A business that had established itself and grown exponentially in the renewable energy space, Elgin Energy came to us with many moving parts in the air. It was our job to bring the brand together under one concise, formalised identity. The ‘People and Culture’ department within the company was developed to support and engage with staff. We were tasked with creating a brand personality and brand roll-out for their internal communications. This roll-out included a new website, office decals, digital signatures, and art direction.

Meeting multiple members of the Elgin Energy team during various stages of this project, it was obvious that there is a spark that unites them all. Each person brims with passion, is full of ideas, and open to the creative process. The main goal for the original body of work was to uniform all these ideas, and to gather the scattered pieces of the brand, into one brand bible. This was achieved by combining a rich, fresh visual language with a formalisation of the brand tone of voice and personality.

“As natural as sunlight, our language is honest, authentic and relatable. And just like the sun, we encourage growth, build strength, foster positivity, and generate warmth.”

Following the success of the brand identity, we consulted with Elgin about the brand roll-out and required next steps involved in bringing it all to life.

A multi-lingual website that accurately showcased who they are as a company was top of the list. We began an extensive web project then that once more brought together multiple members of the company in collaboration.

The website design was driven by Elgin’s commitment to sustainability and renewable energy. We employed eco-friendly design practices, optimising images and code (where possible ithin the limitations of the framework we built in) to reduce the website’s carbon footprint. We recommended green hosting with Webflow to further align with Elgin’s mission. The visual language was contemporary, clean, and consistent with the new brand identity, ensuring coherence across all digital and physical platforms.

Inspired by movements in the solar system, the interaction design featured playful colour fades, smooth rotations, and parallax scrolls. These elements not only created an engaging user experience, but also symbolised Elgin’s forward-thinking. The site’s modular layout allowed for flexibility across different pages, ensuring a visually appealing and functional experience on any device.

Great working with Good as Gold. It was a brilliant collaboration and fun to work with such a creative team. They got the brief and delivered a product which surpassed my expectations of where we could bring and reimagine our brand!

Ronan Kilduff
Elgin Energy
I'd been wanting to rebrand for a long time and finally engaged Good as Gold in early 2024. Since I've launched the rebrand and new website the quality of the enquiries I receive are exactly the premium target I'm after. Couples are finally recognising my work for all the right reasons because of how it is now delivered via the new identity.
